Accompaniment of singers, instrumentalists and choirs

It is Setsuko Oshiro Jeanneret’s favorite field. She has a great experience in accompanying :

Her repertoire : Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern

All those who worked with her underline how attentive she is and how reliably she plays. She can adapt herself to any situation. Besides, she can almost silence some mistakes made by the musicians she accompanies. These qualities are appreciated both by professional musicians and students at exams, contests or auditions. She knows how to teach her students how to play together and listen to the other one. Up to 1999, before she came to Switzerland, she worked with a group of professional singers giving an opera at Nagano each year, such as Carmen, The Magic flute, l’Elisir d’Amore, Hansel und Gretel, La Bohème, and Abu Hassan. In Switzerland, she worked with professor Yves Senn on the opera Mireille. She also accompanied many a young professional Japanese singer during seminars given in Italy by Bruno Pelagatti (in Pescara) and William Mateuzzi (in Bologna). Recently, she was lucky to be able to accompany several tenors during lessons given by Nicolaï Gedda, certainly one of the greatest tenors of the second half of the 20th century. These lessons were also hugely informative and she learned a lot about how to interpret the Lied as well as the opera. “Die schöne Müllerin”, “Winterreise” and “Schwanengesang” by Schubert are Setsuko Oshiro Jeanneret’s favorite works and she has played them very often.
