Setsuko Oshiro Jeanneret was born in Japan, in Nagano, She began studying the piano at the age of 6 in her native town, then in Tokyo, at the University of Kunitachi. She continued her formation at the famous Musikhochschule of Detmold in Germany, where she studied piano accompaniment with Günther Weissenborn and solo piano with Renate Krechmar.

Back in Japan, she continued to improve while being the assistant of the famous pianist Yoichi Miura who accompanied the most famous European singers on tour in Japan. She furthermore gave concerts as a soloist or in chamber music and she also accompanied singers.

Her contacts with Europe have never ceased. She took part in many seminars, in Weimar, in Hungary, in Lucerne. In Italy, she accompanied a great number of singers during seminars given in Pescara by Bruno Pelagatti and in Bologna by William Mateuzzi.

She has lived in Switzerland since 2000, in the canton of Neuchâtel. She collaborates with several professors of the Conservatoire neuchâtelois, in particular for the accompaniment of pupils during examinations. She formed and directs two choirs of Japanese singers : Mizunokai in the canton of Neuchâtel and Blue Coconuts in Bern. Since 2001, she has had the opportunity to take part –as an accompanying pianist- in lessons given by the famous tenor Nicolaï Gedda to young active tenors in many operas of Europe. On February 8, 2004, she gave in La Chaux-de-Fonds a recital devoted to works by Beethoven, Chopin and Schumann.

In parallel, her activities continue in Japan where she directs a chorus of children for which she prepares shows, operas or musicals. Japanese critics mentioned her qualities as an accompanying pianist, her deep knowledge of the German Lied, and more particularly the way in which she was able to play and transmit all the richness of it. The critics moreover saw in her formation in Germany a considerable asset for the Japanese singers she accompanied. Her great sensitivity, the ardor which she can show and the richness of her repertoire were acclaimed by the critics. Recently, the press admired her version for children (soloists and choruses) of the Magic Flute and underlined how much the public appreciated her Japanese adaptation and her accompaniment, as well as the immense pleasure felt by the young interpreters aged from 6 to 15.
